Works on new water services and road maintenance in Triq Santa Luċija Valletta

Transport Malta will start road maintenance work in Triq Santa Luċija Valletta tomorrow, Monday 13th  November at 09:00hrs.  In the meantime, the Water Services Corporation will be working on a new water main distribution to replace the existing one.  This process will take some weeks until all related services are connected in the area.  Transport Malta will resume works including asphalting works as soon as these services are finalised.

Triq Santa Luċija will be closed to traffic as from Monday morning for some weeks.

We urge drivers to use alternative routes and follow instructions by officials on site.

New temporary vehicle entrance for Valletta

\"Triq

From tomorrow, vehicles coming from the direction of Belt is-Sebħ will enter Valletta from Triq Santa Luċija.  Transport Malta will be rebuilding Triq San Mark, the usual entry point.

Works will start tomorrow at 09:00hrs and are expected to last for a few weeks since the entities responsible will be installing the services from scratch.  Triq San Mark will remain closed throughout the duration of works.

Whilst apologising for the inconvenience, we urge drivers to be mindful of the changes in traffic management, follow the temporary traffic signs and the instructions of officials on site.

A new disembarkation area for bus passengers in Valletta

\"\"

Passengers disembarking in Valletta will exit the bus in the area known as il-Biskuttin as from next Sunday.  Passengers will no longer alight in the kiosk area, in front of city gate.  The area, which for decades has been synonymous with the bus terminus, will be pedestrianised, and it will welcome the last bus on Saturday night.

The Valletta entrance project will enter a new phase in the coming days.  Works on King Edward Avenue are nearing completion; works will now continue in the area around the Triton Fountain, where personnel will form tree pits, install services and irrigation reservoirs.  The square will then be pedestrianised.

The area around the fountain will be cordoned off for safety during the works. The Grand Harbour Regeneration Corporation is creating a pedestrian passage that will guide pedestrians safely to Valletta and Floriana during the works.  Pedestrians will walk through this passage as from coming Sunday.  We urge the public to follow the signs on site.
