Creatives For Safer Roads – The Awards

Creatives for safer roads

A few weeks ago, we launched a competition for all the creatives out there.  We named it, ‘Creatives for safer roads’.

We asked filmmakers, photographers and writers to come up with films, photos and stories with one common element, the promotion of road safety.

We had a number of submissions in the film and short story competitions, from which we picked these winners.

Unfortunately no submission in the photography section achieved the expected level and thus no prize was awarded in the same category.

Nicholas Zarb’s entry with a short film, showing the terrible consequences of drink driving, won the top award in the filmmakers’ competition.  He won a one year subscription with audible and €800 redeemable in items to help him and his team pursue their artistic and academic endeavours.

Maria Refalo with her concept ‘reach like a dutch’ placed first in the writers competition.  She described a campaign, in the form of a story, to help raise awareness on the dangers faced by riders and described how everyone can make our roads a little bit safer.
